Registration information for new, returning, or kindergarten students

Visit the District 45 online boundary map to find out which school your child will attend.

School Registration

Do you need to register your child for the 2026-27 school year? Our school offices are closed but will reopen on Monday, August 3. As an option, until then, you may begin the registration process by calling the District 45 Administration Office at (630) 516-7700. If you prefer to register at your child’s school in person, you may do so during Walk-in Registration on Thursday, August 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 3-7 p.m.

Please see the links to the right or below for more information.

Residency Verification Information

District 45 uses a third-party vendor to automatically verify student residency information. The vendor cross-checks a parent’s name and address against electronic databases, such as utility company records. Most families are expected to be verified electronically. If your residency is verified, you will receive a confirmation letter and will not need to submit additional documentation.

Families whose residency cannot be verified electronically will receive a letter outlining the additional information required to register their child for the upcoming school year.

Residency verification helps protect taxpayers and district resources by identifying non-residents attending District 45 schools. Illinois law requires parents to prove residency before enrollment and permits periodic checks to ensure compliance.

Special residency circumstances due to military service

If a student’s change of residence is due to the military service obligation of the person with legal custody, the student may maintain their original residency status with a written request from the legal custodian. The district also allows dependents of U.S. military personnel to enroll while living in temporary housing outside district boundaries if they will reside within the district within six months of enrollment. Proof of the planned move must be provided at the time of enrollment.

For questions about verifying residency, contact your child’s school.
