There may be times during the school year when a parent or guardian needs to contact a District staff member with a concern. District 45 has established a clear communication pathway for a parent or guardian to follow in order to receive help with his or her concern. The starting point is to share the concern with a teacher. The teacher must respond to the parent or guardian within two days of the initial contact. The chart below shows the exact progression of steps in the District’s communication pathway that will lead to a successful resolution. Please use this chart when you need to contact a District staff member with a concern.
The teacher will respond to the concern within two school days.
Elementary School: Contact the classroom teacher.
Middle School: If the concern involves one teacher, contact that teacher.
If the concern involves multiple teachers, contact the grade level team leader.
