When you have a concern

Sometimes during the school year, you may need to reach out with a question or concern. District 45 has a clear process to help you know who to contact. The first step is to talk with your child’s teacher. Teachers will respond within two school days. If the concern is not resolved, follow the steps below to know who to contact next. This process is designed to make sure your concern is handled quickly and effectively.

STEP 1: Share the concern with a teacher.

Elementary School: Contact the classroom teacher.
Middle School: If the concern involves one teacher, contact that teacher.
If the concern involves multiple teachers, contact the grade-level team leader.

STEP 2: Share the concern with the principal or assistant principal.

The building administrator will respond to the concern within two school days. To contact a teacher, principal, or assistant principal, please call the school’s main office.
