TRANSPORTATION

Parents may inspect the District 45 transportation policy in each school or the District Administration Center, and may refer questions to your school’s principal or the Assistant Superintendent for Finance.

STUDENT BUSING

Bus transportation is provided without charge by First Student to students living 1-1/2 miles or more from school. Paid transportation is an option for those living less than 1.5 miles from school when space is available on a bus along an existing route.

Students receive their bus route assignments during the registration process. Bus service begins on the first day of classes. Students are advised of regulations for conduct on the bus. Video cameras have been installed on all buses to monitor rider behavior.

SPECIAL EDUCATION BUSING

Specialized busing is provided for qualified students by Septran Inc. For questions about specialized busing or to report changes in specialized busing needs, please contact 630-516-7700.

WALKING AND DROP-OFFS

For the protection of all students, please follow all posted signs and directions from school staff and crossing guards. Per Illinois law, all cell phone use is prohibited while driving in a school zone.

BICYCLES

Riding bicycles to school is at the parents’ discretion; however, it is not encouraged for students below fourth grade. Students must adhere to school rules to have bicycles at school.

SCHOOL-SPECIFIC INFORMATION

Some District 45 schools may have additional rules regarding transportation specific to their locations. Please be sure to check your school’s website for more information.
