The Business Office effectively manages and allocates the School District 45 financial resources to ensure student and staff success.

The Business Office aligns its objectives with the District 45 strategic plan by setting annual goals to ensure fiscal responsibility and accountability while maintaining high levels of service to students, families, staff, and the community.

Budget & Finances

The Business Office is primarily responsible for non-instructional support, including:

• Accounts Payable
• Budgeting
• Cash Management/Investments
• District food service
• Facility Scheduling/Rental
• Financial Reporting and Projections
• Mandated Governmental Reporting
• Payroll and Benefits
• Purchasing
• Risk Management
• Regular Education Transportation

The Buildings & Grounds Department is responsible for maintaining the high quality of District 45’s schools and grounds.

District 45’s Buildings & Grounds Department ensures that high workmanship, cleanliness, safety, and security standards are maintained in all nine school buildings in Villa Park and Lombard.

Our Schools

The District is also committed to establishing fiscally and environmentally responsible practices, including:

• Classroom audits to find new ways to save energy.
• Replacing metal halide light fixtures with LED fixtures in middle school gyms.
• Installation of occupancy sensors to reduce energy costs by turning lights off when rooms are not in use.
• Roof replacements to increase energy efficiency.
• Participate in EnerNOC Demand Response program, which pays the District to switch to on-site generation when students are not present and there are large demands on the electrical grid.
