On September 13, creativity filled the Jefferson Middle School gym as District 45 families gathered to celebrate Frida Fest.
Families dove into hands-on art activities, including bracelet making, screen printing, and mini canvas art, while others became a canvas themselves and participated in face painting and henna tattooing. Families also enjoyed raffles, hula hooping, and giant Jenga and Connect 4.
Fresh Mexican street corn and mangonadas, prepared on site by La Michoacana Villa Park, fueled the event’s creative spirit. Between bites, families gathered to watch live performances, including a lively children’s mariachi band, dazzling breakdancers, and vibrant ballet folklórico.
What fantastic fun! A big thank you to Frida Community Organization and the community partners who helped make the day memorable for our families.
