Vaccine Clinics - November 13th & December 4th

Parents & Guardians,

The CDC has approved the use of the COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11. District 45 is collaborating with the Tri-Town YMCA and District 48 to bring a vaccine clinic to our community. Please see below for key information, and visit https://tritownymca.org/vaccineclinic/ for more details and to register.

You will be able to see available appointment times for each date when you register at the link above via the Jewel Osco portal.

At this time, the two-dose Pfizer vaccination will be administered at this Clinic. All vaccinations will be by appointment only and a parent/guardian must be present with their student. If your student has recently tested positive for COVID-19 or is displaying symptoms consistent with COVID-19, we ask that you do not bring them to the clinic.

Information about Vaccinations

Information from the CDC indicates that the COVID vaccine is both safe and effective. We understand that you may have questions, and want to support you in the best way we can. As such, families wishing to review information about the COVID vaccine may view this recent webinar provided by our neighbors in District 205, which features a group of local doctors discussing the vaccine:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHByZI2rVuc

Additionally, we ask that you please review District 45’s Post Vaccination Guidance, taken from the IDPH Post-Vaccination Considerations for P-12 Schools, when considering your decision to vaccinate your student. The vaccine is NOT mandatory. As always, our goal is to keep students in school for learning, and being fully vaccinated allows for fewer quarantines in cases of close contact. Students who are fully vaccinated (i.e., two weeks past their second vaccination) do not need to quarantine if they are exposed to an individual who is COVID positive.  You can review more details in our guidance, located here: https://d45.org/news/post-vaccination-guidance/

Willing to Volunteer?

While Jewel-Osco is providing the vaccinations for the event, we will need volunteers to assist us in making sure the events run smoothly.  If you are interested in helping out, please complete this form.
