Our Lions were getting fit during their 8th annual Track-a-thon the week of October 23. At York Center, during PE class, students ran as many laps as they could during a 10-minute period. When the weather didn’t cooperate one morning, the Lions couldn’t go outside to run, so they ran inside. Families could also pledge students to run laps. Grade levels competed to raise the most funds, with a prize going to the grade level at each school with the most pledges. Several Lion parents volunteered during the school day by helping to count laps.
Best of all, the funds raised from the Track-a-thon will go directly to the Stevenson/York Center PTA! Thanks to PE Teacher Katie Crowe, our families who supported our students, and all our volunteers who helped our Lions achieve their goals. Way to go, Lions!
