On November 15, School District 45 joined districts across the state in celebrating “School Board Members Day” in Illinois.
At a presentation held before the start of its November 13 meeting, the District 45 Board of Education was presented with original artwork created by Jackson Middle School students under the direction of Jackson Art Teacher Tara Challenger.
“As Board members, each of you ensures our students receive the best education possible,” said Challenger. “You make sure we have the resources to help prepare our students to successfully navigate a dynamic world.”
Students each presented their artwork, framed and gift-wrapped, to a Board member. Jaguar artists included Nick Kuban, Gage Dondzik-Clardy, Allie Herrera, Janeth Vazquez, Nathan Rodriguez, Giovanni Garcia, and Astro Zalnerius.
“The artwork you received tonight is called Alphabet Photography,” said Challenger. “It involves the creative process of photographing everyday objects that resemble letters of the alphabet and then putting the photos together to create words. We hope you enjoy the students’ work and find a special place to display them.”
Board members give up their personal and family time because they understand the importance of local governance in our educational system. They sacrifice a great deal to ensure our students have a high-quality education system that prepares them to successfully navigate a dynamic world.
District 45 celebrates its Board of Education and its strong commitment and contributions to our community.
