Congratulations to the Jackson Middle School Builder’s Club on surpassing their goal of collecting 1,000 non-perishable food items and collecting 1,683 items to donate to the Outreach House!
The Club organized the non-perishable food drive to include a contest between Advisory classes at each grade level, with the most generous classes winning a breakfast sponsored by the Club. The winning classes included Mrs. LaBorn’s 6th-grade Advisory, Mrs. Meissner’s 7th-grade Advisory, and Ms. Stuenkle’s 8th-grade Advisory.
While classes competed to win the contest, the Club always kept in mind that the true winner was the D45 community.
“Students were all smiles when they were boxing up the items and proud of what the school was able to raise,” said Mr. Robert LaBorn, the Club’s co-coordinator. “My hope is that they were able to see the importance of giving back to the community that they live in and know people are out there that need our support.”
Way to give back, Jaguars!
