Our Jackson-Area student musicians have been busy — performing three recent concerts in May. On May 5, under the direction of Joe Koppel, families were treated to the Jackson-Area Spring Band Concert, featuring the Preparatory Band, Intermediate Band, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band with guest conductor and Jackson Band Alum Annabelle Deany.
Then, on May 9, Jackson Middle School held its Spring Sing Concert at Willowbrook High School, featuring the 6th-grade Cadet Choir, and the 7th and 8th-grade Concert Choir. The concert included student awards and recognitions, with a special presentation to Vocal Music Teacher and Director Ms. Sarah Giordano. The finale featured a performance of “Why We Sing” by the combined choirs and Jackson Middle School alumni.
Finally, on May 12, the Jackson-Area Orchestras Spring Concert was held at Willowbrook, featuring performances by the Preparatory Orchestra, Boomwhackers, Intermediate Orchestra, Wired Up, and Concert Orchestra, with Guest Conductor Mr. Peter Lograsso. The concert included student recognition and a special presentation to Band Director Mr. Dave Farquhar.
Thank you to our District 45 Music Boosters, teachers and directors, and all our families for supporting and encouraging all our student musicians!
