On August 17, students and families arrived at schools throughout District 45 for the first day of school. Principals and building leaders, teachers, and staff welcomed students and families.
Across the district, we counted thousands of smiles, a few tears, and a million butterflies.
“It’s bittersweet,” said D45 parent Saima Imran, whose son attends the new Early Childhood Center. “I’m so excited, but it’s hard too. He’s so little!”
With summer still in the air, a new year of learning begins—with new friends, new memories, lots of growth, and tons of fun. To all our D45 students, families, and staff: happy first day of school!
