On September 30, D45 families and friends gathered for the Frida Community Organization’s Frida Fest. Families enjoyed tacos, raffles, art and sports activities, plus access to community resources, including free on-site vaccinations and the WIC Mobile Clinic.
Attendees were treated to live entertainment featuring traditional and contemporary dance groups, as well as Jefferson Middle School Principal Raúl Gastón on the steel drum!
Thanks to gracious host Sarah O’Donnell and our friends at the Tri-Town YMCA, and the many community partners and service providers who were on hand for all the fun.
Frida Community Organization (FCO) is joining the District 45 community through a five-year grant that will help facilitate community-wide activities, events, and services available to all District 45 families. Through the grant, FCO will also offer after-school enrichment activities for Schafer Elementary and Jefferson Middle School students.
